The Moriarty Tribunal, which concluded long ago, accused Mr. Lowry of corrupt behavior regarding the state’s second mobile phone license and called his actions 'profoundly corrupt'.
Despite public disapproval, some TDs within both parties believe working with Mr. Lowry is pragmatic to ensure successful government formation, regardless of past controversies.
Members of Fine Gael expressed no major issues with Mr. Lowry’s involvement, emphasizing that one individual won’t dominate negotiations, but acknowledged his negotiating strength and experience.
