Family members identify victims of Esparto fireworks explosion
Briefly

A DNA testing process is identifying the remains of seven victims from a fireworks warehouse explosion in Esparto, California. Yolo County officials are expecting results within 48 hours. There is a belief that no additional victims' remains exist at the site. To address hazards from undetonated explosives, burn off operations have been in progress. The investigation focuses on the role of companies linked to Craig Cutright, who is currently on leave from his firefighting duties. The state fire marshal is overseeing the investigation into the incident.
In a 10 a.m. press conference, Yolo County Undersheriff Coroner Matt Davis stated that results from the rapid DNA testing are expected within the next 48 hours.
Officials do not believe there are remains of other victims at the site, but work will continue to rule that out.
Esparto Fire Protection Chief Curtis Lawrence explained that crews have been conducting 'burn off operations' to mitigate hazards of undetonated explosives.
Both Devastating Pyrotechnics and BlackStar Fireworks are noted to be connected with Craig Cutright, an active volunteer firefighter.
