The oath of office does not contain any specific obligations to the debt brake. It does reference the Basic Law, which mandates balanced revenue and expenditure."
While individual states have a borrowing ban, the federal government can borrow a maximum of 0.35% of economic output, allowing some fiscal flexibility."
