Exclusive | NY teacher bruised autistic 3-year-old boy, put hand sanitizer in his mouth - then school tried to cover it up, lawsuit says
Briefly

A lawsuit and police records reveal that a teacher at Happy Dragon Children Learning Center in Queens allegedly abused a 3-year-old autistic child by bruising his arm and forcing hand sanitizer into his mouth. Despite the incident being recorded on surveillance video, the daycare failed to report the abuse to the child’s parents or fire the teacher immediately. The child's mother expressed her devastation over the incident, while attorneys seeking civil justice highlighted the daycare's cover-up attempts and neglect in handling the situation appropriately.
"I trusted them," mom Sabrina Gentile told The Post. "They failed me and my family."
"Even though this happened in 2023 it still causes pain to all of us," Gentile said.
"That was obviously an attempt at a cover-up. Obviously, in this case, the cover-up failed," said attorney Sanford Rubenstein.
"When I took his coat off and saw those bruises on his arms, I automatically called the daycare," Gentile said.
