Ireland's major public charging network has increased its prices by up to 15%, raising the cost of fully charging some electric vehicles (EVs) to over €60. This price escalation surpasses the cost of petrol or diesel for equivalent driving distances. ESB cars, the largest provider with the most public charging points, will charge an additional 7 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh), resulting in up to €7 increase in charging costs for consumers with electric vehicles.
