Elon Musk Is Already Doing Exactly What He Said He Would

Less than a week after the election results were called for former president Donald Trump, his centibillionaire backer Elon Musk is already doing what he promised: taking an active role in shaping the government under a second Trump administration.
Musk, who has apparently already joined Trump's calls with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, Serbia president Aleksandar Vučić, and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, looks poised to have some kind of role in the administration.
During the campaign, Musk emerged as one of Trump's biggest backers and his most zealous advocate in Silicon Valley. His political action committee (PAC), of which he was the primary funder, spent $200 million to help the Trump campaign.
In September, Trump said he would create a government efficiency commission with Musk-whose business empire benefits extensively from government contracts and subsidies-at the helm.
