E3's Organizers Are Back With a New Event. This Time, Doctors Are Invited Too

The E3 games conference has been declared dead by its organizers, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), following declining attendance and the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, they plan to launch the Interactive Innovation Conference (iicon) in April 2026, which will focus on bridging the gap between gaming and other industries like film, music, and health care rather than serving as a traditional trade or consumer show. ESA president Stanley Pierre-Louis emphasized the event's distinct purpose and audience compared to E3.
"We are proud of the history we had of hosting E3 and what it did to bring our industry together."
