Thanks to director Parker Finn, flashing your pearly whites is the scariest thing you can do these days. In 2022, Finn debuted Smile, a horror flick in which people are haunted by terrifying grins and then kill themselves to end the torture.
In Smile 2, global pop star Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) faces the same disastrous fate. After experiencing a series of inexplicable events, she's struck by the smile curse.
Finn has yet to confirm if there's another movie in the works, but he seems open to the possibility. Ahead of the Smile 2 premiere, the director spoke with Screen Rant about the future of the franchise.
I do think that there are so many exciting places that Smile could go, he said. For me, it's still always about wanting to do something thematically rich that's centered on character stories.
