Danish officials, including Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen and Defence Minister Lund Poulsen, have rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's interest in Greenland, emphasizing that it is not for sale and that the decision ultimately rests with the Greenlandic people. Rasmussen stated unequivocally that Trump would not be able to acquire Greenland, even through possible military force. Additionally, there are discussions among European allies about the potential stationing of troops in Greenland, framed as a security measure, reflecting heightened tensions regarding U.S. intentions.
Trump will not get Greenland. Greenland is Greenland and the Greenlandic people are people, also in terms of international law.

Sending EU troops to Greenland would send a strong signal to the US President.
