In a catastrophic event, a regional jet collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter over Washington, D.C., leading to the deaths of all 67 individuals onboard. The commercial flight was nearing Reagan National Airport when the incident occurred. Among the deceased were 14 individuals from a figure skating development camp. The tragedy has deeply affected the skating community, as many of the victims were affiliated with the Skating Club of Boston, prompting heartfelt tributes and condolences from officials and organizations alike.
Skating is a tight-knit community where parents and kids come together 6 or 7 days a week to train and work together. Everyone is like family.
