A crew member of a U.S. submarine was evacuated for urgent medical treatment about seven nautical miles off Nuuk, Greenland. The Danish Joint Arctic Command said a Danish Seahawk helicopter retrieved the crew member from an inspection ship and transferred them to a hospital in Nuuk. U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to send a hospital ship to Greenland, alleging many people there are sick and not receiving care. Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said Danish authorities had not been informed the ship was on its way. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen defended Denmark's free and equal health care and said Greenland has the same approach.
