On a tragic Friday evening, a medical jet crashed in Northeast Philadelphia shortly after takeoff, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including a pediatric patient and her mother. The plane, a Learjet 55, took off at 6:06 p.m. and did not remain airborne for more than a minute. The National Transportation Safety Board announced the incident is classified as an accident, with no distress signals sent from the flight crew before the crash. Beyond the fatalities aboard, the crash also injured several bystanders nearby.
