John Cook announced his retirement from coaching the Nebraska women's volleyball team after 25 successful seasons, marked by four NCAA titles and numerous accolades. Dani Busboom Kelly, a former Nebraska player and assistant coach, is set to take over the program after a successful stint at Louisville. Cook expressed gratitude towards his family and staff for their support, highlighting the great moments shared throughout his coaching career. His tenure with the Huskers included record-breaking attendance and a track record of developing elite players.
"It's been a great run," Cook, 68, said in a statement released by Nebraska. "I've had the opportunity to work with some great coaches and staff over the years."
Busboom Kelly was a key player for the 2006 Huskers team that won the national championship in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a setter and a libero during her college playing career.
