During a recent Congressional hearing, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi asked FEMA Director Deanne Criswell if any truth existed that FEMA could control the weather, highlighting right-wing conspiracy theories.
"One of the conspiracy theories out there is that somehow FEMA controls the weather," Krishnamoorthi stated, underscoring the absurdity of such claims and emphasizing the need for accountability in addressing misinformation.
In response, Criswell disclaimed any control over the weather, saying, "I do not control the weather," indicating both her serious concern for misinformation and her governmental responsibilities.
Referencing alleged political bias, Krishnamoorthi asked Criswell if she directed severe weather against political foes, highlighting the absurdity of blaming government agencies for natural disasters, leading to her questioning, "Why would anybody want to bring harm to the American people?"
