In the three months between November 1 and January 31, a total of 652.5mm of rainfall was recorded at the station. Areas of the south-east have had over 210mm of rain in less than three weeks, and some parts of Wexford received over twice their normal level of rainfall in less than a week."

Johnstown Castle in Wexford recorded 652.5mm between November 1 and January 31, its highest tri‑monthly total in 85 years. Thousands of acres along the Blackwater, Suir, Nore, Slaney, Barrow and Liffey remain flooded. Farmers cannot spread slurry; storage tanks are under sustained pressure. Continued wet weather could delay planting and affect harvests.
