Blue Ridge Beef is recalling 1,350 pounds of kitten food after a Massachusetts sample tested positive for salmonella, posing risks to pets and humans alike.
'Pets with Salmonella infections may exhibit lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Some may only show decreased appetite and abdominal pain, but can still be carriers.'
The recall affects lot N25-0716, distributed across multiple states from July 18-26, 2024, following a customer's complaint leading to testing of the product.
Symptoms of salmonella infections in humans include nausea, cramping, and fever. Anyone experiencing these after contact with the recalled food should seek medical attention.
