NPR.org is migrating to Disqus for improved commenting, addressing user requests for features such as threaded discussions, mobile accessibility, and integration with existing accounts.
84.3% of survey respondents prefer not to create a new login, and 26.4% want access to previous comments. NPR will fulfill these requests with the new system.
The new commenting platform will not only allow users to organize discussions in a threaded layout but will also enable easy sharing on social networks like Facebook.
NPR anticipates a rising interest in comment quality, prompting the potential for curated comments and user engagement in upcoming stories on NPR.org.
