Comedy directed by Berkeley-born Olympian hits Amazon Prime
Briefly

Alexi Pappas, a multi-talented creator from Berkeley, combines her passions for athletics and filmmaking. An Olympian who competed for Greece in 2016, Pappas continues to balance running—training 125 miles weekly—with directing, writing, and acting in Hollywood. Her films often reflect her athletic experiences, including "Tracktown" and "Olympic Dreams." Pappas' latest project, "Not an Artist," arose from discussions with comedian Matt Walsh about artistic commitment, tackling the challenges of those who aspire to be artists yet don't take action toward their goals.
"We were all very tickled by that idea. Because it's very rare that you actually do that thing you say you are. We wanted to explore this idea of 'Are you a writer if you don't write?'"
"Not an Artist," Pappas' latest film, was born at the premiere for "Olympic Dreams". Matt Walsh approached Pappas to praise their work on the film, which was mostly improvised.
