Residents of Columbia Street Waterfront District and local politicians are calling for the immediate closure of a city-owned concrete recycling plant, claiming it has been emitting hazardous concrete dust into the air and their homes for nearly a year. Despite being an eco-friendly concept aimed at reducing construction waste, the facility has created significant noise and pollution. Local officials have criticized the city for inadequate responses to community concerns, leading to protests, as residents report serious health issues attributable to the dust.
