Coin3D Introduces a New Standard for Interactive 3D Asset Generation | HackerNoon
Briefly

The Coin3D pipeline represents a significant advancement in 3D asset generation, integrating 3D-aware control with interactive user workflows. Users can modify prompts and shapes effectively while receiving real-time 3D previews. However, the current approach has limitations, such as the dependency on 2D image candidates that can lead to quality issues in final outputs. Future improvements may involve enhancing model capabilities for better texture resolution and integrating physically-based rendering (PBR) materials for more realistic outputs.
Our method successfully integrates 3D-aware control from coarse shape proxies to the 3D object generation task and enables an interactive generation workflow.
The workflow starts from synthesizing 2D image candidates, necessitating prompt engineering and limiting the quality of generated results due to background textures.
Our approach currently struggles with fine-level details, and enhancements through better backbone models and high-resolution optimization are necessary for improvement.
Future work includes creating a material-disentangled diffusion model to generate objects with PBR materials for modern rendering pipelines.
