Closing date revealed for historic Wetherspoons pub

Despite a petition signed by over 3,000 patrons and residents urging the Wetherspoons chain to keep The George pub open, the closure is confirmed for October 13.

Councillor Paul Donovan emphasized that although the petition had been considered, the decision had been made, leading to a cancellation of the planned 'day of action' for the Save the George campaign.
