Chinook Salmon make an appearance at Lake Merritt
Briefly

Robinson expressed, "This is only the second time since I've been at the institute that Chinook salmon have been in the lake. It's so many obstacles for [them] to get here, and that's why it's so fascinating." Highlighting the rarity and significance of salmon sightings, he emphasizes the challenges these fish face in their journey.
Robinson remarked, "It would be amazing to have Lake Merritt be a spawning ground for salmon again. It would bring a tear to my eye if that happens, because it's a testament to not only the improving water quality but to the salmon constantly coming back in, trying to find a way. Nature finds a way." This reflects his emotional connection to the ecological recovery.
