Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk has received a provisional suspension after a positive drugs test, amid claims he has never knowingly used banned substances.
Club manager Enzo Maresca attributed Mudryk's absence from recent matches to illness, although the suspension arose following the discovery of a contaminated A' sample.
Following the adverse finding from a routine urine test, Mudryk is awaiting the results of a B' sample to confirm or challenge the initial findings.
Mudryk expressed shock at the situation and insisted he has never knowingly violated any rules, promising to work with the authorities on the matter.
