OpenAI is currently experiencing a major outage affecting ChatGPT, Sora, and its developer API, with services down for over two hours as of our last update.
The outage coincides with the launch of OpenAI's Apple integration on iOS 18.2, leading to speculation that an influx of traffic may have impacted server stability.
Following the launch of Sora earlier in the week, OpenAI reported unexpected user interest which caused capacity issues for new sign-ups trying to produce content.
As of 4:55pm PT, OpenAI has recognized the outage and stated they are working toward recovery, yet many services remain non-operational.
