UFC lightweight Charles Oliveira is set to challenge Islam Makhachev for a title shot following UFC 311. At a Jiu Jitsu seminar, he shared motivational insights, encouraging grapplers to remain disciplined and never abandon their dreams. Oliveira expressed his desire to avenge his past loss against Makhachev, emphasizing the significance of regaining his championship status. Having lost his title controversially at UFC 274 and with a mixed record since, he is fueled by the opportunity to reclaim glory in the octagon.
"Don't give up on your dreams. Continue to be disciplined. Don't give up on stuff because Jiu Jitsu is a smooth art," Oliveira told Cageside Press through a translator at the seminar.
"It would be huge to actually be able to avenge a loss. I've always been able to avenge losses against guys that beat me in the past. To actually become a champion again against a guy that beat me up? Even better," he said.
