After two decades of fan worship, homeowner Barbara Lorber is applying for an iron gate at Carrie Bradshaw's stoop to curb intrusive tourists.
Lorber expressed her sorrow to the Landmarks Commission, stating, 'That house shouldn't be gated!' despite the continued disregard for her private property.
Lorber, who restored the house's 19th-century details, has used a chain and sign to discourage trespassers, yet tourists persist in clambering over it.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission typically frowns upon gates, viewing stoops as semi-public spaces, but acknowledges the unique challenges in this case.
