After operating for 30 years, the Bryant Park Grill will close as it couldn't renew its lease, giving way to a Jean-Georges restaurant. The new venue, operated by Seaport Entertainment Group, will embark on a $12 million renovation, aiming to introduce a full-service eatery by May 2026. Despite higher bids from Bryant Park Grill's owner, Dan Biederman, president of the Bryant Park Corporation, confirmed the shift, with assurances of rent guarantees for the new operators amidst community concerns regarding fiscal stability.
We are a hugely successful restaurant even though we are handcuffed - the restaurant closes at 10 pm during the week, our outdoor seating is weather permitting.
Biederman assured those concerned that the new lease would feature a rent guarantee, forcing the operators to pay regardless of the success of the new business.
