The excavation in San Casciano dei Bagni has uncovered remarkable artifacts from an ancient Etruscan thermal spa, revealing a rich history of votive offerings and healing practices.
This treasure trove includes bronze statues, gold crowns, jewelry, and intact eggs, preserved by the mineral-rich waters of the thermal springs for centuries.
Led by Jacopo Tabolli, the archaeologists have found 24 bronze statues dedicated to the gods and other offerings, illuminating the site's significance to both Etruscan and Roman cultures.
The site has provided infinite surprises, illustrating its opulence during the Roman era when it attracted emperors and remains a testament to ancient healing rituals.
