Broken escalators at DLR station to be replaced after thousands complain
Briefly

Over 2,000 people have signed a petition initiated by the Escalate Now! group, urging Transport for London (TfL) to address the long-standing issues with the Cutty Sark station escalators, which have consistently failed, causing significant inconvenience to passengers, particularly those with difficulties navigating stairs.
Tom Page, general manager for the DLR, confirmed that funding has been secured to replace the broken escalators at Cutty Sark station, though a concrete timeline for the replacement works has yet to be announced.
Transport for London is committed to maintaining infrastructure that effectively serves commuters, acknowledging the escalator disrepair's detrimental impact on numerous passengers, particularly those with disabilities or mobility issues.
Despite the ongoing escalator problems at Cutty Sark, TfL assures that it is collaborating with operator KeolisAmey Docklands to keep passengers informed through announcements and has implemented a one-way system along with lift access.
