Bright, sunny weather on the cards for this weekend - but rain on the way
Briefly

Saturday could be the best option for Christmas shopping as it's set to be mainly dry and bright for a time, with good spells of sunshine. However, the weather will become increasingly cloudy with light rain and drizzle expected by the evening.
According to Met Éireann, Sunday will be a mostly cloudy day with some patchy outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. Sunday night will continue this trend, remaining mostly cloudy with patchy light rain.
Next week, we see breezy and bright weather forecast. Monday and Tuesday are predicted to be bright and dry, but further spells of wet and windy weather will arrive by Wednesday, with some thundery showers expected.
It'll be windy at times with some rain or showers, but some drier brighter interludes too. Temperatures will fluctuate a little too, but generally will be close to average, according to forecaster Michelle Dillon.
