Gaetz contends that the public release of the committee's report would lead to widespread media coverage, potentially damaging his reputation and future opportunities.
After stepping down from Congress following a nomination as Attorney General, Gaetz’s ethics investigation faced pressure, prompting the committee to vote to release the report.
