Blue Jays: Myles Straw leads the charge in recruiting Kyle Tucker
"It seems like the Toronto Blue Jays are legitimate contenders to earn Kyle Tucker's services. Myles Straw and Tucker were both drafted in 2015 by the Houston Astros and even made their big league debuts in the same season (2018). They played parts of four seasons together before Straw was traded to the Cleveland Guardians. Well, it looks as if the two can reunite in Canada. Acquired last off-season, it's been Straw who has led the recruiting charge for the Blue Jays to sign Tucker."
"Tucker is one of, if not the best, free agents available this off-season. In 2025 with the Chicago Cubs, the 28-year-old outfielder slashed .266/.377/.464 with 22 home runs in 597 plate appearances, nearly walking (14.6 BB%) as much as he struck out (14.7 K%) while posting average defence. Adding Tucker would be a game-changer for the Blue Jays, especially if they find a way to retain Bo Bichette's services as well, which seems a bit unlikely."
The Toronto Blue Jays are actively pursuing Kyle Tucker, with former Astros teammate Myles Straw publicly recruiting him after their shared history. Tucker delivered a .266/.377/.464 line with 22 homers and strong walk rates in 2025, pairing contact and on-base skills with average defense. His profile projects as a top-of-the-order bat, often hitting second for the Cubs, and his addition would markedly improve Toronto's offensive core. A potential lineup could include George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. alongside Tucker. The Blue Jays face competition from the Dodgers and Yankees, and a decision on Tucker could arrive in December.
