At age 65, actress Pauline Quirke, renowned for her role in 'Birds of a Feather', has been diagnosed with dementia, as revealed by her husband. Since her diagnosis in 2021, Quirke has decided to step back from her professional commitments, concluding over 50 years in the industry. In addition to her acting career, she founded the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts, significantly impacting young performers. Her contributions to TV and charity work have earned her numerous accolades and awards during her career, including BAFTA nominations.
Pauline has been an inspiration through her work in the film and TV industry, her charity endeavours and as the founder of the very successful Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) that has facilitated many young peoples' progression.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my wife Pauline's decision to step back from all professional and commercial duties due to her diagnosis of Dementia in 2021.
