Betances thrilled to share Thanksgiving spirit in NYC hometown

"Brooklyn is like my second home. I grew up in the lower east side of Manhattan, but I played high school baseball in Brooklyn. So being able to come back here means a lot. I've been able to use my platform to inspire the younger generation. One day, if they can give back to the community, this is what this is all about."
"He lives in a world now where everything comes easy. I want him to know that I grew up in this area. Not everybody gets everything or handed to them. I want him to learn that you have to be able to give back, make people happy, especially when the holidays are coming up."
