Beach-bound: Scheffler to play at Pebble Pro-Am
Briefly

Scottie Scheffler is making his return to competitive golf at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after a six-week recovery from a puncture wound on his right hand. The injury occurred while he was preparing Christmas dinner. Scheffler expressed his eagerness to play but noted he did not want to rush his recovery. With a strong track record—including a victory at the Hero World Challenge—his return is highly anticipated, especially following a successful season where he won nine times, including an Olympic gold medal.
Scheffler had said at the start of the week the recovery was progressing well and he was eager to get back but that he wasn't about to "rush back just to rush back."
It was pretty unusual for me not to be able to do much in the gym," said Scheffler, who said he worked primarily on his lower body until his hand began to heal.
The tournament, which begins Thursday, will be the start of what figures to be a closely watched encore for the FedEx Cup champion.
Scheffler is coming off a season in which he won nine times, including an Olympic gold medal.
