The fire broke out on the second floor of a three-story building, devastating Chef Gustavo Bravo's family and damaging his workplace, Campania.
"[Bravo] and his family are devastated. They were at a family function and came back to this horrific scene," said Brittany Diffullah, a coworker.
The apartment was completely destroyed, and the restaurant also suffered significant damage, prompting a closure of several weeks.
Bravo's coworkers are also rallying to gather winter clothes and toiletries for the family during this difficult time.
