An Australian hiker, Harry Partington, 22, was tragically killed by a fallen tree on the Four Mile Trail in Yosemite National Park last week.
The incident occurred on October 8 at around 2:30 p.m., when the tree fell due to wind gusts, emphasizing the importance of being aware of surroundings while hiking.
Another individual, a woman from Germany, was injured in the incident and required helicopter evacuation, although her current condition remains unclear.
Yosemite Park officials noted that the Four Mile Trail, a strenuous and challenging 9.6-mile hike, is susceptible to falling trees in windy conditions.
