Hadi Nazari, a 23-year-old experienced hiker, survived for nearly two weeks in the rugged Kosciuszko National Park, relying on berries and two muesli bars he found.
More than 300 people participated in the challenging search for Nazari, which included rescue dogs and helicopters, after he went missing while hiking.
Nazari was located six miles from the search command post, but the difficult terrain made the distance misleading and complicated the search efforts.
Police Inspector Josh Broadfoot shared that Nazari had been walking continuously in harsh terrain, emphasizing the challenging conditions he faced during his survival.
