Natasha O'Brien, who was brutally beaten unconscious by soldier Cathal Crotty, is set to return to court for the outcome of the DPP's appeal against Crotty's lenient sentence.

The decision of the Director of Public Prosecutions to appeal arises from the belief that the three-year suspended sentence given to Crotty does not adequately reflect the severity of the attack.
