The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth revealed that over 3,000 people have not been offered accommodation, forcing some to sleep rough.
Donnchadh O Laoghaire of Sinn Fein expressed, "People in tents on the streets of our capital city is no good for anyone, particularly the dignity and welfare of international protection applicants."
Nick Henderson, CEO of the Irish Refugee Council, emphasized, "No one should be forced to face the elements relying on tents, pitched on the streets, especially during the depths of winter."
Met Eireann's Liz Coleman warned, "Heavy rain associated with Storm Darragh may lead to some localised flooding and hazardous travelling conditions."
