Ariola fights for Queens representation in GOP leadership amid disputed City Council vote - QNS
Briefly

Republican Council Member David Carr's recent election as Minority Leader is under dispute by fellow council members who were absent during the vote. The election, conducted with only three out of six members present, has sparked claims of illegitimacy, especially from Joann Ariola, who criticized the lack of transparent communication regarding the meeting. She described the proceedings as 'theatrical' and asserts that the nomination process was poorly communicated, which raises concerns about the legitimacy of the vote.
I believe...this was done for theatrics, and Council Member and Minority Leader Borelli did this because he thought he could get away with something.
The notice sent to me did not say there was a vote for minority leader. It was very vague, and it said to be at the minority leader's office at 12 noon to discuss issues.
