Owner Peter Agrapides expressed surprise at the sudden attention, eagerly anticipating how Oscar recognition might enhance their visibility, especially hoping that scenes from the candy shop will make it to the big screen.
"We didn't know it was going to be so big," said Peter Agrapides, the owner of Williams Candy. "I love the Oscars, it's going to be better now, maybe they'll put that scene in the candy shop on the screen."
Williams Candy has been a Coney Island staple for over 80 years and now they are enjoying their sweet moment in the spotlight.
