Ancient alphabetic writing unearthed by UC Santa Cruz professor remains a mystery
Briefly

Elaine Sullivan, a UC Santa Cruz history professor and Egyptologist, made significant archaeological discoveries in Syria while studying at Johns Hopkins. She unearthed artifacts with an alphabetic script that remains undeciphered, showcasing her expertise in archaeology and history. Sullivan, who combines digital technology and humanistic studies, authored a book on Egypt's Saqqara necropolis. Her experiences in excavating the Bronze Age mortuary complex in Umm el-Marra during her training at Johns Hopkins have contributed to her notable career in exploring ancient cultures and their rituals.
