American Airlines is introducing new boarding technology at over 100 airports to combat 'gate lice'—passengers boarding early, ahead of their designated groups.
We've heard from our customers that the ability to board with their assigned group is important to them because it's a benefit associated with their AAdvantage status or fare purchase, said Julie Rath.
The initial positive response from customers and team members has exceeded our expectations, so we are thrilled to leverage this technology ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
AAA projects that nearly 80 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving, with air travel expected to set a new record.
