Dodgy Viagra has surged to become Britain's leading counterfeit drug, with regulators seizing over £6.2 million worth last year, surpassing counterfeit painkillers like morphine.
'Online is the new front line this is almost exclusively an online trade,' said Andy Morling, highlighting the significant market for counterfeit medications due to men seeking cheaper alternatives.
Health officials warn that buying counterfeit drugs online can lead to severe health risks, as fake medications may not contain proper ingredients or may have harmful substances.
Pharmacist Thorrun Govind emphasized the critical danger of counterfeit drugs: 'Fake medicines may not contain any of the active ingredients and may contain ingredients which are damaging to your health.'
