Alameda County has appointed Judge Ursula Jones Dickson as interim District Attorney following the recall of Pamela Price. Jones Dickson, supported by the group Save Alameda For Everyone, will serve for 1.5 to 2 years until a general election in 2026. In her comments, she criticized Price for being overly activist, asserting her own commitment to impartiality and a victim-centered legal process. She will be joined by Annie Esposito as her assistant, as both planned to hire each other if appointed.
Although I respect her convictions, they're not mine. I'm here to do a job, and as a judge, you have to be fair and impartial.
The group that organized Price's recall, Save Alameda For Everyone (SAFE), had backed Jones Dickson and Contra Costa County Assistant District Attorney Annie Esposito.
