I find symmetry very comforting and calming... it scratches an itch in my brain.
I had to use exact measurements with a ruler to draw it out which is quite alien for me in my work!
Each aerial landscape is then stitched with meticulous detail, from single lines of thread mimicking bridges to a gold cog inserted at the heart of a teeming garden.
Richards is looking forward to creating more winter pieces as the cold weather settles in and is also working on a larger project still under wraps.
