Veronica Torres, 44, was charged with a felony for allegedly posing as her mother to claim hurricane aid, citing youthful looks from Botox.
Torres applied for aid using her mother's identity, claiming $7,967, but her much younger appearance raised suspicions among city officials.
The police stated that after her suspicious appearance was noticed, she attempted to justify it by attributing it to Botox treatments, which was not convincing.
Following the hurricanes, FEMA cautioned against fraud, warning that thieves often misuse personal information from disaster-affected individuals to get assistance.
