108,000 homes, farms and businesses without power supply and thousands still without water as Storm Eowyn clean-up continues
Briefly

ESB Networks has successfully restored power to approximately 660,000 customers following the severe impact of Storm Éowyn, which initially affected 768,000. International technicians are assisting in recovery efforts, with the majority expected to regain power by next Friday. However, around 100,000 customers will experience prolonged outages into the next week. ESB has emphasized public safety, warning against approaching fallen power lines. Meanwhile, 7,500 properties are without water, but generators are providing support to additional areas as recovery efforts continue.
While the ESB has said 'the vast majority' of people who lost power will have supply back by this Friday, as many as 100,000 customers 'will progressively have power restored over the course of next week'.
The ESB has reiterated a message asking the public to exercise caution and said it had 'been made aware of several instances of potentially dangerous incidents where members of the public have unknowingly approached fallen electricity infrastructure'.
'If you come across fallen wires or damaged electricity network, never, ever touch or approach these as they are LIVE and extremely dangerous.'
'Our priority now is to ensure the restoration of electricity to our plants and pumping stations that are running on generators or remain without power...' Margaret Attridge said.
