A New Jersey Transit River LINE train crashed early Monday morning in Burlington County, resulting in the death of the conductor and injuries to 23 passengers.
Officials reported that the southbound train struck a tree on the tracks north of Roebling Station at around 6 a.m., leading to the tragic incident.
Governor Phil Murphy stated he has been briefed on the crash, which has left more than 20 riders injured and services suspended for the River LINE.
NJ Transit is investigating the incident, and busing services are being provided for commuters disrupted by the suspension of River LINE services.
